Dr. Huma is a consultant gastroenterologist. She was decorated with a civil award Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. She has over 250 papers to her credit. She conducted the 1st survey on the “Prevalence of Hepatitis B and C in General Population of Pakistan” in 2008. 2nd survey for Sindh was undertaken by her in 2019. She has developed Hepatitis B and C testing and treatment guidelines for Pakistan. She is the national focal point for viral hepatitis.
