In collaboration with the Ministry of Planning Development & Special Initiatives and UNFPA Pakistan, conducted the Voluntary National Survey for the International Conference on Population and Development Program, reviewing achievements and challenges to reinforce sustainable development and improve governance across key areas.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Planning Development & Special Initiatives in Pakistan and UNFPA Pakistan conducted the Voluntary National Survey as part of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Program. Adopted by Pakistan along with 178 countries in 1994, the ICPD Program of Action emphasizes the interdependence between population, development, and individual well-being for sustainable growth.
The survey process was comprehensive, incorporating both primary sources—through stakeholder engagement and intergovernmental consultations—and secondary sources like sectoral reports, budgets, and legislation. The project underscored the importance of inclusivity and the universal principle of ‘leaving no one behind’ in implementing the 2030 Agenda. The consultative workshops, which involved representatives from various sectors and stakeholders, facilitated a thorough review of the ICPD’s achievements, challenges, and policy recommendations across key areas such as poverty eradication, health, education, and gender equality. This effort not only reinforced the national commitment to sustainable development but also enhanced the framework for future actions, thereby positively impacting governance and community welfare.
